Played it through a few times
with different party configurations and such. So far Ive done: classic party with Warrior, Priest, Mage, Assassin; Warrior + 3 Assassins (finished level 16/17 with 262k gold); Priest (Pally), Summoner, Mage, Assassin; 4 Warriors (1 Sword, 1 Mace, 1 Polearms, 1 Axe); 1 Sword Warrior (solo--incomplete, gave up, couldnt get past the interrogation in the cloister underground); 1 Mace Warrior (solo); 1 Summoner (solo). Pretty good classic-style cRPG, reminds me of a few I played way back.
Tried a solo run with a sword warrior. It was nice and easy, until I got to the interrogation in the cloister underground. Couldnt beat the guy, so I went back and got another level, grinding on zombies. Then after many attempts I succeeded in beating him, but then couldnt handle the rats. So I need to grind another 500k experience (or give up and start from the beginning...guess I maybe shoulda gone mace). Gave up and restarted, successfully completed the game solo with a mace warrior. Level 19 with 282k gold at the end of the game.
Summoner solo run successfully completed. Results:
Level 19
291k gold
Normal Mode: 30 Strength, 244 Health
Beast Mode: 222 Strength, 1396 Health (this is after selling off all my gear, including many strength and hp-boosting equips)
It was difficult getting started. In fact, I nearly died to the rats in the tutorial, and the stun bugs in the beginning were a pain. But once I got to about level 3 or 4, this was actually my easiest run so far, easier than any of the full parties Ive been through with. The interrogation in the cloister underground was really no challenge--I just changed to beast and ripped the guy apart. I did, however, get stunned, frozen, and poisoned very frequently--went through a lot of green pots.
*Bug reports*
When an enemy is killed on the same square as a barrel or trash pile, the items dont drop in the barrel/pile, but beside it, and can be nearly impossible to pick up. Some Ive succeeded after many attempts, but others Ive eventually given up. This could be game-breaking if the item is a necessary quest item.
*Solution: Stand on the square the item is on, open inventory, then switch to items on the ground. Still needs to be fixed though.*
"Poison" is mis-spelled as "posion" in the status effect.
I cant exit the final credits video, after finishing the game I have to delete it and re-install it.
